Princess Atotoztli portrait drawing. Graphite on paper. 9 x 11.
Drawing I did of the gorgeous Toltec Princess which lived in the XIII century's Ancient Mexico. Yacanex wanted to marry her, but her father the ruler of Culhuacan and Emperor Xolotl forbid it, for she was to marry a young lord with titles and lands, Huetzin. So Yacanex revolted against the Empire, and against all things civilized. His uprise was so large, that even some royals united with him. The Chichimec Empire, who ruled most of the known world fought them, the worst was the Battle of Poyauhtlan. In the end Yacanex lost and had to flee for ever to northern lands, Atotoztli married Huetzin, and many dissidents fled to the other side of the mountains to constitute the Tlaxcala realm (centuries laters they would become the Aztecs enemies).

Dibujo que hice de la hermosa princesa Tolteca que vivió en el siglo 13 en el Antiguo Mexico. Yacanex quería casarse con ella, pero su padre de ella el gobernante de Culhuacah, y el Emperador Xolotl lo prohibieron, porque ella debía casarse con un joven señor con titulos y tierras, Huetzin. Así que Yacanex se alzó contra el Imperio, y contra todas las cosas que tuvieran que ver con lo civilizado. Su levantamiento fue tan grande, que incluso alguna realeza se le unieron. El Imperio Chichimeca, que gobernaba parte del mundo conocido peleo contra ellos, lo peor fue la Batalla de Poyauhtlan. Al final, Yacanex perdió y tuvo que huir a las tierras norteñas, Atotoztli se casó con Huetzin, y muchos disidentes huyeron hacia el otro lado de las montañas para constituir las tierras de Tlaxcala (siglos despues ellos serían los enemigos de los Aztecas).
